World Party Weekend 2010![]() 28 - 29 August, Museum Park, National Waterfront MuseumA mix of sounds, flavours and culture from Swansea's diverse communitiesWorld Party Weekend returns to the grounds of the National Waterfront Museum with a mix of sounds, tastes and cultures from around the world, all in one place. Over 12 communities will be represented including the Bangladeshi Integration Group, Swansea Chinese Centre, the Arab and Muslim Community and many more with each group offering a variety of interactive workshops. Traditional clothing, crafts and delicious food will also be available to buy. With an excellent live music stage featuring artists and dancers from local and international communities, marquees, workshops, cooking demonstrations and tasters – this is one Bank Holiday party not to be missed! Best of all World Party Weekend is a FREE EVENT. Saturday 28 August, 1pm - 6pmThe Lord Mayor of Swansea will open World Party Weekend with Swansea's own Samba Tawe live on the main stage. This will be followed by an intense blend of world entertainment including a traditional Ceilidh group, an Indian dance group, an African choir and Capoeira demonstrations. There will also be salsa dancers, a cultural Thai performance, Habibi dancers and Zumba demonstrations from Active Swansea leisure centres. Sunday 29 August, 1pm - 6pmIf Saturday's proceedings left you wanting more then you won't be disappointed. Sunday's stage event will be headlined by Robert Maseko and the Congo Beat. Robert is part of the new wave of Central African artists who are re-interpreting hip-swinging Congolese soukous music. There will also be performances from Buena Risca Social Clwb, The Amigos and Wilhelms Bavarian Band. Plus workshops, demonstrations and tasters will continue on Sunday.
