Visitor Information

For a warm welcome and expert help call in to one of our friendly Tourist Information Centres (TICs).  The main TIC is located in the City Centre behind the Grand Theatre and there is also one in Mumbles opposite Boots in the church.

At both, you will find all you need to know about Swansea and Gower to make your visit as enjoyable as possible.

  • The LC Swansea

    The LC is a great place to visit, with a waterpark, huge climbing wall and even a four-storey indoor play area!  There's also a gym and spa with a range of pampering treatments available.

    Visit Swansea's giant hothouse garden for something a little different.  Plantasia is home to exotic plants and animals from all over the world and includes our resident Cotton-Top Tamarin Monkeys.

Cultural attractions

  • Brangwyn Hall - 01792 635489

    The Brangwyn Hall is famous for its Empire Panels which are huge colourful murals painted by Sir Frank Brangwyn.  This major concert hall hosts regular concerts and many large events including the Swansea Festival of Arts and Music every October.

    The Centre celebrates the life of Swansea's most famous son and hosts a free permanent exhibition.  The Centre is also the focal point for the annual Dylan Thomas Festival which runs from 27 Oct - 9 Nov.

    The Egypt Centre, found on the University of Wales Swansea campus, holds the largest collection of Egyptian antiquities in Wales.  It contains over 4,000 objects including coffins, jewellery and weapons.  Admission is free, and it's well worth a visit as kids can take part in some hands-on activities.

    A lively and exciting venue on the University campus, Taliesin is a popular and friendly venue with a varied programme of events.

Outdoor attractions

  • Parks in Swansea

    Swansea has a wonderful collection of parks including Cwmdonkin which has strong connections with Dylan Thomas and Brynmill, which has a lake filled with ducks to feed wheat and lettuce.  There are also ornamental gardens at Singleton and Clyne, as well as many other parks and playgrounds across the city. 
  • Swansea Bay Rider

    The Swansea Bay Rider is a land train that runs on the promenade between Blackpill and Southend.  It runs daily throughout the summer and stops at various points for you to explore the delights of Swansea Prom.

    Visit Swansea Prom for a walk or cycle around the beautiful sweep of Swansea Bay.  There's plenty to do, including Blackpill Lido, pitch and putt golf and pedaloes on Singleton Boating Lake.  There are also great playgrounds at Southend in Mumbles and Singleton, next to the boating lake. 
  • Gower - Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
    You'll find beautiful beaches, rugged cliffs, commons where sheep and wild ponies graze and lovely wooded valleys in Gower.  Gower Explorer buses (48 and 49) run on circular tours on Sundays, or you can explore the area on foot or bike.
