BBC Proms in the Park

Singleton Park, Saturday 11 September

Welsh Harpist Catrin Finch will line up alongside The Three Welsh Tenors at Singleton Park on Saturday 11 September 2010, as Swansea joins the nationwide Last Night of the Proms celebrations.

The evening will also feature the newly formed The Three Welsh Tenors - Rhys Meirion, Aled Hall and Alun Rhys-Jenkins. They will perform the aria Nessun Dorma (from the final act of Giacomo Puccini's Turandot) which many will recognise as the BBC's soundtrack to the World Cup in 1990.

Local mixed choir Swansea Bach Choir will perform the Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves from Nabucco by the Italian Romantic composer Verdi.

Presented by popular Welsh personality and BBC Radio Wales presenter Aled Jones, BBC Proms in the Park in Swansea joins England, Northern Ireland and Scotland to mark the end of the BBC Proms season in spectacular fashion. The event will be conducted by Grant Llewellyn, a regular with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, who will lead the line-up of impressive artists.
